Samsung Galaxy S3 owners can now root their expensive Android handset opening the arena for powerful custom ROMs and equally interesting Android apps. Though Google Android OS is acknowledged for remaining by far the most customizable and restriction-free operating system, getting root access provides a whole new dimension.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is lucky to have received an early breakthrough with easy to root solution in the form of tool called CF-Root, regarded as the easiest rooting tool of all. If you are new to rooting, then experts recommend this to be the best bet. The latest updated version of CF-Root includes pre-loaded with apps like CWM Manager, SuperSU together with ClockWorkMod build 5.5, which are the required root permission management solution

The following guide will help you root the Samsung GS3 suing CF-Root:

Note: Ensure your Galaxy S3 is indeed model GT-i9300. The model number can be verified by navigating through phone’s Settings > About device > Model Number. If your Galaxy S3 model number includes a suffix, then the following tutorial will help. However, if it’s a different model number, then it will not root.

Step 1: After you have ensured that your Galaxy S3 is indeed the GT-i9300 then download ODIN 1.85, a tool required to flash the CF-Root bundle onto your Galaxy SIII.

Step 2: You can have CF-Root SGS3-v6.0.zip from the link here, and once downloaded extract it on your desktop.

Step 3: After extracting CF-Root, you will get CF-Root SGS3-v6.0.tar

Step 4: Making sure your phone is not connected to the computer, start ODIN you downloaded in step 1.

Step 5: select PDA, and click the .tar you extracted above in Step 2.

Step 6: Put your Galaxy S3 in Download Mode by switching it off, and holding Volume Down + Home button + Power at the same time. Once done, connect your phone to your computer.

Step 7: Making sure the Repartition choice is not checked, click over the Start, and once ODIN finishes its task, which takes not more than 30 seconds, your Samsung Galaxy S 3 is rooted.
