iPhone jailbreak community has just received an update from Pod2g confirming that his latest iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak tool will also work on the iPhone 3GS and iPod 3G. Earlier, the hacker announced that his untethered jailbreak was not compatible with iPhone 3GS and iPod 3G.

However, with the latest tweet, the iPhone 3GS and iPod 3G owners can relax. The main reason these iDevices were initially not included on the list of compatible devices because the kernel exploits used to achieve the jailbreak on different devices didn’t seem to work on the iPhone 3GS and iPod 3G.

Pod2g tweet reads that they have finally found a method to make the tool work on iPod 3G and iPhone 3Gs. The following is the list of devices that are tested and confirmed as working.

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPad 1
  • iPad 2 Wi-Fi
  • iPad 3 Wi-Fi
  • iPad 3 Wi-Fi + 4G (CDMA)
  • iPod touch 3G
  • iPod touch 4G

Note: If you are expecting Apple TV 3 to be included on the list, then you will have to wait as it is not in the compatible list of devices.
Following is the list of devices; Pod2g is still working on, and will update on the results soon.

  • iPhone 3Gs
  • iPad 2 GSM
  • iPad 2 CDMA
  • iPad 2 Wifi, R2
  • iPad 3 CDMA
  • iPad 3 Global
  • AppleTV 2

pod2g announced earlier that the tool would take two more weeks to release, but still the date is not yet finalized as many are speculating that if pod2g and Chronic Dev team will release the untethered jailbreak at the Hack in the Box conference starting May 21st.
