Apollo vs. Torch 2: Two More BlackBerry Handsets 2011
It seem these days, BlackBerry is trying its best to introduce a handset which can attract customers occupied deciding over iPhone or an Android phone. Recently we heard about BlackBerry Dakota, and today we got hands on two other BB devices: Torch 2 and Apollo.
BlackBerry Torch 2:
Remember the handset first to launch with BlackBerry OS 6, besides a large touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard: named Torch. Now Torch 2, as you can make out, is a successor to the same, arriving on RIM. According to BGR, Torch 2 would feature:
- 1.2GHz processor
- 512MB of RAM
- 3.2-inch display with 640 x480 resolution
- Bluetooth 2.1, GPS
- NFC (Near Filed Communication) Chip
- A 5 megapixel camera with flash
- Magnetometer & Accelerometer
- Proximity sensor
- RIM’s BlackBerry OS 6.1.
- 1300 mAh battery
BlackBerry Apollo
Another RIM handset which leaked this morning, BlackBerry Apollo is an update to the Curve 8520. So Apollo is nothing, but the codename for the latest generation of BlackBerry Curve phones, giving the lower-end some great features enhancements and performance boosts. To specify, Apollo will sport:
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- Tri-band UMTS/HSPA 7.2Mbps
- Tavor MG-1 800MHz CPU
- BlackBerry OS 6.1
- Bluetooth 2.1 / Wi-Fi b/g/n
- GPS / NFC Chip
- 512MB of eMMC, 512MB of RAM
- 5-megapixel camera with flash
- HVGA 480 x 360 display
- 1050 mAh battery
