iPhone iOS Unreal Engine 3: Project Sword On Retina Display
The Unreal Engine 3 based app Epic Citadel has been downloaded over 1 million times, which shows the popularity of the visually stunning demo and the capability of the future games based on the technology. Now the company behind Unreal Engine 3 has announced that the development kit for the Unreal Engine will be made available to the developers, allowing them to bring out games for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The first confirmed game title to use the Unreal Engine 3 is Project Sword, which is an action RPG game also recently demoed on stage at an Apple’s event. The Gears of War developer have announced that the Unreal Development Kit will be able to produce apps across all the iOS devices.
Studio VP Mark Rein also confirmed that overall, Unreal Development Kit has “more than 350,000 installations, which is pretty amazing for a game engine.”
