HTC EVO 4G Vs Samsung Galaxy S: HTC Evo Has An Extra G
The HTC EVO and Samsung Galaxy unveiled at the CTIA has added more to the confusion that consumers are facing while deciding which phone is better and has more features.
HTC Evo 4G is the first phone in US that will provide users the broadband speed of 21Mbps and is a feature that is enough to declare it a winner when comparing to any other phone. Just imagine browsing net on your HTC EVO at the speed which you get only on your Desktop computers.
The Samsung Galaxy S is another smartphone which has managed to grab headlines with features like a huge 4 inch AMOLED Screen which is 20 percent brighter than normal screens. The screen that comes with Samsung Galaxy S is better than the screen on HTC EVO 4G, which is not super AMOLED, but it is bigger so that compensates the brightness that Galaxy S is promising.
Spec wise both the phones are similar if not same:
1. Operating System: HTC EVO 4G runs on Android 2.1 and Samsung Galaxy S also runs on same Android 2.1.
2. Screen Size: HTC EVO comes with 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen, whereas Samsung Galaxy S boasts a Super 4 inch touch screen. Capacitive touch screen is known for fast and better response when tapped, whereas Super AMOLED is presented by Samsung as brighter than any other touch screens.
3. Processor: Both HTC EVO and Samsung Galaxy S are powered by 1 GHz processor.
4. Camera: HTC EVO has two cameras one huge 8 megapixel auto focus camera and one forward facing 1.3 mp camera for video calling whereas Samsung Galaxy S has an efficient but 5 megapixel auto focus camera and one extra camera for video calls.
5. Connectivity: Here the 4G support that HTC EVO provides is enough to declare it a clear winner as Samsung Galaxy has simple 3G, which is plain old technology in comparison to Wimax and LTE.
Oh man, have a look at videos comparing these two screens. That Super AMOLED is jaw-dropping stunning. I have only ever had HTC phones, and love them, but this Super AMOLED is seriously tempting me. I don’t even have 3G where I live, so 4G isn’t an issue.

Connectivity: The EVO cannot be the winner. Try to use it on your trip to Europe… and you will see that the Samsung Galaxy S is the only device that will work.
No contest, the galaxy s is a clear winner in my book. Whoever wrote this article clearly did not research this properly. In addition to Tmobiles new 3G with HSPDA, not only will it be faster than sprint, it will have broader coverage than sprints 4g which is expected to cover 100-120 million people by year end. In contrast Tmobile will cover close to 200 million by year end. The icing on the cake making galaxy s a clear winner on Tmobile is you will have to pay an extra $10/mth for sprints 4g, even if you don’t have 4g service in your area.
Finally bigger is not better! I was gung ho for the htc evo, except when I held it in my hand, it was too big. The samsung seems to be a lot sleeker from what i can see, however may have a different opinion after i finally get my hands on it. Nail in the coffin for the htc evo is the battery life! From reviews and a few good friends who have it is it SUCKS!!! What good is it to have such a great phone if it cant carry you throughout the day.
I have a HTC Hero, still hanging on Android 1.5 (!!!). Probably HTC buyer will see 2.2 next year and nomore else: HTC is too busy selling only new phones every three months, do NOT mind for former customer. My phone was (pretty) good at the time I bought it. Now, it just sucks!! and thanks to shity customer care and idiot programmers, I won’t buy another HTC phone anymore. Go for Galaxy!!
Last I heard there will be a WiMax Galaxy S (Epic) for Sprint in Aug. That is the phone the should be comparing to.. Whic one of THOSE is better?

ok for tmobile new edge users,we are talking about current networks not stuff in future.me and my friend have hyc evo and epic 4G,yes his screen is nicer,but some movies we upload look off colors or some part to black in dark scenes!!! his thinner by lil bit,as for speed we went to websites and pretty spot on same.on sites engadget evo loads tad quicker.However my friend biggest con is setup is samsung UI vs htc sense. animations on htc evo are amazing.Whether it rains ,windy,sun it looks great.rain drops on screen,wiperblade,lightning strikes,clouds and sun beams all from lock screen,then actual weather app has second set diff.animations for weather.my friends epic haven’t seen any yet.also,he hates the icon look of samsung UI look old and cheesy.Ex.music app evo artistic music note icon,samsung dull speaker on plain colored box whack!!!
look we all seen the commercials when the samsung new 240hztv came out one football and sports 1.2in deep,then the other bird flys up to flower and touches it then brillant color show amazing.However samsung introduced new future amoled screen and dull icon and no animations to show power crazy then 5mp this is standard on lot old phones why go backwards when most new smartphones have 8mp they make these phones 8mp and up for other coutries not usa.so don’t get it!!!!
results are htc evo : big screen,kickstand,fast speed and 8mp this is it!!!
samsung galazy s series epic for sprint: beeter screen (colors),thinner just lil bit,5mp ,but no animation/dull icons then this is it.So it up what people want.
go to sprint store and play with both !!! see beauty is both great phones.
