Tutorial-MAC upto V1.1.4
Step 1. Restore phone to 1.1.4 using iTunes
Use iTunes to restore your phone to 1.1.4. This is important, even if you do have a brand new phone. However, it is especially important to do this if you have been using your phone for a while. The reason for doing this is so that your phone’s settings do not conflict with the patches that the software will be running. Before you do this though, you need to make sure that you save your pictures to your computer, then sync your contacts and calendar. You will then later want to setup your phone as new and use iTunes to re-sync this data.
Step 2. Now you will want to download the software
Step 3. Run iTunes so that it will be able to see your Iphone
Step 4. Once iTunes has found your phone, you will want to run the software. At this point iTunes will automatically close and the iTunes helper will also be turned off.
Step 5. You will want to go to the main tab and check the boxes that you desire for Jailbreak/Activate/Unlock. Here is where you will want to know if your phone came 1.1.2 or later and therefore has a 4.6 bootloader. This is because if your phone has these things you will want to check the box for “Unlock with 3.9FB” in order to unlock your phone while still using the reversible 3.9 Fake Blank bootloader method.
Step 6. If your phone came with 1.1.2 or later and has a 4.6 bootloader, check the box for Unlock with 3.9FB to unlock the phone via the reversible 3.9 Fake Blank bootloader method. See Guides for more information.
Step 7. If you want to install other options, or add other programs via a special payload file, then simply click on the Apps tab. For example, the Cydia +BSD Subsystem will install the Cydia package manager. You will also find options for other recommended apps such as OpenSSH. In order to use your own payloads, you will need to check the box that says “select your own payload.” Then you will need to browse to find the custom payload file that you wish to install.
Step 8. Click on ”Free My iPhone!” and you will be done!
